Compare the group quote with shared tickets

Shared cruises differ in duration, drinks and group size, so compare the experience as well as the ticket total.

For a shared catamaran, compare the ticket total and what the drink allowance covers. The catamaran includes one welcome drink per person on its 90-minute trip; additional drinks are available to buy with cash or card. The catamaran departs from Doca de Santo Amaro and excludes wheelchair users.

For shared sailing yachts, compare exclusivity as well as the total price. The sunset sailing cruise with wine is €55 per person. Two things jump out of that table.

What you are actually buying, and it is not the euros

A private booking keeps the passenger group to your own party; departure times, music and other arrangements still need to be agreed with the operator.

The clock. Shared boats leave when the schedule says and return when it says. For a private boat, request your preferred departure time and confirm the available slot before booking. A sunset sailing is still subject to its confirmed schedule and weather conditions; a private booking does not guarantee a visible sunset.

The guest list. For families, age and boarding restrictions matter on both private and shared boats. The party cruise excludes children under 18, while the spacious-yacht sunset cruise excludes children under 6. The party boat also excludes pregnant women, people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users. Arrive at its ticket booth 30–40 minutes early and use the boarding location specified for your option. Catering on the private luxury sunset cruise

On the private luxury sunset cruise, catering is a separately quoted service. Its provider states that catering is available on request with at least 48 hours’ notice, at which point the operator sends a list of options and prices; additional drinks can be bought on board.

Two practical consequences. Arrange catering at least 48 hours ahead; booking a Friday departure decision for a Saturday cruise leaves too little notice for that service. Get the catering menu and price in writing before agreeing to it, and confirm the drink and snack allowance for your booking.

The middle rung most people miss

It is unsuitable for wheelchair users, people with low mobility and bachelor parties; alcohol is for guests aged 18 and over. For four people, compare 4 × €45 for the small-group motorboat or 4 × €40 for the spacious yacht with the confirmed private quote for four. There is one more route worth a question rather than an assumption. The sailing cruise with wine lists groups of up to 12 and offers a private option; the luxury sunset yacht lists a standard group of up to 14. For exclusive use, select an available private option or get an explicit private-charter quote; buying ten shared seats does not by itself reserve the boat.

When private is the wrong answer

If you are two people, compare €270 per group of up to two with 2 × €27.90 for shared catamaran tickets. Choose private for the exclusivity; a shared cruise followed by time at a miradouro is another way to spend the evening. A shared sailing boat may suit you if exclusivity is not a priority, and which hull you want can matter as much as private versus shared.
