Belém Combination Tickets: Do They Actually Save Money?
5 min read
For most visitors, buy the standard Jerónimos Monastery ticket and add the standard Belém Tower ticket only if you genuinely want both interiors. They cost €18 and €15 respectively. These listings sell two separate monument tickets and a sightseeing transport pass; compare their inclusions before treating any offer as a discounted bundle.
What you are actually buying
| Ticket | Validity or entry timing | From | Rating and reviews | Fits best |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jerónimos Monastery entrance | Selected date and entry time; explore at your own pace | €18 per person | 4.2 · 16,506 | one major interior |
| Belém Tower entrance | Valid 1 day; confirm the entry time | €15 per person | 4.1 · 9,131 | adding the fortress |
| Bus, tram and boat pass | 72 or 96 hours; confirm selected option | €42.30; check fare type | 4.3 · 2,320 | transport over several days |
The two monument tickets
The Jerónimos listing promises entry and the monastery’s sixteenth-century Manueline architecture. The tower listing promises entry to the UNESCO-listed fortress. Each monument ticket covers its named building. Budget separately for €18 per person at the monastery and €15 per person at the tower; buying two separate tickets does not establish a package discount. Plan around the opening days: the monastery cloister and tower normally open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, with last entry at 5 pm. Both close on Mondays, 1 January, Easter Sunday, 1 May, 13 June and 25 December.

Why the transport pass is different
The 72/96-hour offer combines an open-top bus, vintage tram and Tagus cruise, and names Belém among several districts. The title and summary advertise 72- or 96-hour access, while the general validity field says three days; confirm the validity of your selected option. The pass describes transport access and discounts on monument and museum tickets; check the booking page for the admission terms at Jerónimos and Belém Tower. Compare it by the routes you will use, rather than assuming it reduces the cost of monument admission. For one half-day in Belém, much of its validity would remain unused. For the boat, the listed Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday service stops in Belém; the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday partner service does not. The final listed Belém departure on stopping days is one-way, with no return. Check service updates before planning your connections, as road works can temporarily suspend services.

Clear recommendation
Book the standard Jerónimos ticket first. Add the tower only if a second interior is worth €15 per person to you; choose the transport pass at €42.30 for several days of moving around Lisbon, checking its selected validity and fare type before paying.
